Looking Into It

The third panel of The Feeding of the 5000 is a bird’s-eye-view, not something we are used to seeing every day.  Once people ‘get’ it, they are happy to be part of the making of the figures for this scene.

Today was Micah 6 pantry day, so we were all either mosaic volunteers, or people waiting for their turn in the food pantry.  We quietly worked side-by-side, finding pieces and gluing them on.  Here are some of the works-in-progress:

Mosaic figures being made for a large wall panel.

Feet being made along with their shadows

Orange-shirted figure being made from mosaic materials

Looking down on a seated man wearing an orange shirt

Mosaic mural being made by members and friends of University Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas.

Feet forming and shirt showing on the table at Micah 6.

Mosaic figures being made for a large wall panel.

Figure of Jesus is taking shape
